How do I calculate how much fluid volume is used per month?

To get a cycles per month; divide the number of days in the month by the HOW OFTEN setting.

To get the total fluid volume used per month; multiply the cycles per month by the HOW MUCH setting. This result is in milliliters.

  • To convert to cups; multiply your result in ml by 0.00422675
  • To convert to ounces; multiply your result in ml by 0.033814

Example: HOW MUCH = 30 and HOW OFTEN = 2d, 30 days in the month

  • 30(days)/2=15 cycles per month
  • 15(cycles per month)*30(ml)= 450ml per month usage
  • 1.9 cups OR 15.2 fluid oz

INSTALLATION FAQs

What to do before installing DRAIN IV?

The drip tray and drain line must be thoroughly cleaned prior to install.

What is the max length of the underground condensate run DRAIN IV can handle?

DRAIN IV can handle just about any length of an underground condensate line because of our programmable features.

The default programming can handle up to 20 feet in ¾” PVC schedule 40.

What are the installation options for the pump?

Installation on our magnet mount is the primary choice.

Other options are using the included clip. This can be used on objects or screwed into a surface for mounting.

The pump can be set on a surface using the rubber feet on the back of the pump.

How strong is the magnet mount’s magnet?

The magnet has a 40kg pull strength.

What to do if your magnet mount is not holding in place when loaded?

If your metal substrate does not have sufficient iron for the magnet mount to hold securely, it is recommended to use another mounting option.

What to do if the magnet mount can hold the load but is sliding down the face of the surface?

Use the included MAGSTOP accessory. It’s formed to the curvature of the magnet and has double sided tape to secure it.

If one is not included in your version of the DRAIN IV system, please contact us and we will ship one to you.

What is a MAGSTOP?

MAGSTOP is an accessory to prevent the magnet mount from sliding. It’s formed to the curvature of the magnet and has double sided tape to secure it.

What are the installation options for injecting the fluid

There are 2 options: Into the drain line and into the drip tray. See instructions for details.

Are the drip tray installation kit parts UVC resistant?

If your kit included a 6-foot black UVC resistant tubing, then the black tubing, black drip tray clips, black tubing junctions, black tubing tees and black rubber grommets are UVC resistant.

Is there a particular installation orientation of the TEE to make the fluid distribution equal on the outputs?

Yes. The TEE has 2 arms and 1 leg. The leg is 90 degrees to the 2 inline arms. The input fluid source should be connected to the leg. The outputs to the arms. Make sure to push the tubing onto the TEE’s barbs all the way to the stop and use the spring clamps to secure each connection. The pump has an anti-siphon feature that prevents fluid from flowing when the pump is not pumping. This will ensure that the fluid flow to each output is close to 50%. Make sure to fully prime the system during installation.

How do I install the tubing onto the pump’s IN/OUT port barbs?

Installation of the tubing onto the pump’s IN/OUT port barbs must be done carefully. It’s easier to get the tubing on the barbs when the tubing is warm. If it’s cold, use your hands to warm up the end as this will aid in the tubing’s stretch over the barb. Make sure you push the tubing STRAIGHT onto the barb, not on an angle. Pushing on an angle could possibly damage the barb. Make sure to use a spring clamp to secure the fitting.

How do I remove the tubing from the pump’s IN/OUT port barbs?

DO NOT PULL THE TUBING. You must use a utility knife and carefully make a cut parallel to the tubing/barb. Do it light enough to cut from the end of the tubing to just past the end of the barb. Do not to scare the barb itself. Cutting the barb may lead to leaks.

TROUBLESHOOTING FAQs

What if I see a flashing “0” on the screen when I power on the pump?

Turn the unit off and allow it to charge for 30 minutes. Turn it back on and if the problem persists, the internal battery is defective. Return the faulty unit to the place of purchase for an over-the-counter warranty swap.

The screen on the pump goes blank after 20 seconds. Why won’t it stay on?

The screen will go into power save mode and go blank when power is not applied. If the power cable is plugged in, please check the converter’s connections to make sure 24VAC is being supplied.
