What is DRAIN IV and why do I need it?
DRAIN IV is a HVAC condensate drain line conditioning system that helps prevent bacteria from growing in the drain that forms into clogs. If you live in a climate that you run your air conditioning, you will have condensate that is sent to a sewer drain or the exterior of your home. With aluminum being the makeup on the modern coils, you have a high chance of bacteria festering in your drain line. When unattended to, a clog can form, causing condensate to backup into your system and possibly causing damage to your home.
How do I purchase DRAIN IV for my home?
DRAIN IV can only be purchased from a licensed HVAC contractor. You can contact us and we will refer a contractor that can install DRAIN IV in your home.
I am an HVAC contractor, where can I purchase?
DRAIN IV can be purchased by licensed HVAC contractors from your preferred local supply house. Contact us if you are having problems sourcing DRAIN IV.
I have UVC lights, do I still need a DRAIN IV?
DRAIN IV is a complementary solution to UVC lights. UVC is a great solution for killing bacteria where the light has direct contact, but UVC does not treat the drain line. We can inject our proprietary solution either into the air handler drip tray or directly into the drain line.
Should DRAIN IV be uninstalled in cold winter environments?
DRAIN IV operating temperature range is 41F to 122F. We recommend that your system be uninstalled in the winter months when the installation environment dips into freezing temperatures.
